      PRODUCTS - Eurion LOTOS

LOTOS has an attractive silk-finish surface. Apart from a discreet beige version, there is also a choice of colours from tan, grey, brown, blue, red, yellow as well as a transparent version. For spectacle wearers the instrument can if required be colour-matched in conjunction with a spectacle adapter.

Convenience as the highest priority.
Compact in an anatomically perfect shape.

LOTOS from Eurion is a high-performance hearing instrument, in the development of which user-specific and aesthetic aspects clearly set the tone. Thanks to its appropriate bodyform shape, it offers the best anatomical fit for adults as well as for children and is particularly convenient to wear. The compact dimensions; the slim, elegant design promises discreet and successful hearing correction to all cosmetically-conscious and discerning wearers.

100 % water-tight. Excludes sweat, sand and dust.

Lotos reveals for the first time what is required of a rugged and hard-wearing hearing instrument: Lotos is hermetically sealed and can remain under 1 metre of water for 10 minutes without problem and without any impairment. Serviceability under severel conditions means hearing convenience for all those who must work in extreme weather conditions. Or those who are keen on water sports or who do not wish to forgo strenuous mountain walking. As a result of its strenght, the instrument is less susceptible to breakdown, and therefore not the least of its features makes it ideal for children. The sealing of the two-section casing and of the battery compartment and trimmer cover is provided by profile and labyrinth seals. Receiver and microphone tubes are provided with flange-shaped protuberances which hermetically seal the instrument against moisture on fitting the earhook. A watertight diaphragm has been fitted in front of the microphone, while the switching elements are protected by precise sweat-proof and light-fast rubber seals.

A new operating concept provides secure handling.

Simple and secure operation is one of the most important requirements of a hearing instrument, both for the hearing dispenser and for the wearer himself. Lotos has accomplished an absolutely new operating concept.

The handy, multifunctional Wip-Tip buttons (control elements with two switching direction) provide secure handling even for persons with reduced dexterity. The upper button is used to adjust the volume and the lower selects the electronically controlled hearing program required or switches off the instrument.

Different earhooks determine the optimum frequency response.

The optimum frequency response can be optained with different earhooks. Three versions are available designed for specific corrections:

P (=Power), D (=damping of resonances) and E (=etymotic, i.e. the non-linear main resonances 1, 3, 5 etc. are attenuated).

Audiologically correct noise suppression.

An audiologically correct noise suppression was obtained by using the IC designed by Eurion. It operates symmetrically to 1600 Hz; this means that both the low and the high frequencies are reduced, the gain at 1600 Hz is retained and thus also the range which is so important for speech comprehension.

Audio input as standard.

Particularly for children, an audio input can take over important functions. It allows direct connection of signal sources such as therapy microphone, Walkman, radio/TV. Lotos is provided as a standard facility with the appropriate connection contacts. These are located on both sides of the instrument to increase exclusion of disturbance. Signals from the hearing instrument microphone can be specifically damped or CROS/BICROS supplies provided. Without soldering!

An LCD display shows each setting.

Despite its small dimensions, Lotos has an integrated LCD display which is coupled to the two Wip-Tip control elements. This enables the following settings to be visually checked: short pressure of the lower Wip-Tip button switches on the instrument (M appears in the display). Pressing a second time switches to noise suppression (LCD display Ñ ). Additional transmission programs are T (telephone coil) and MT (microphone and telephone coil).

In each setting, the instrument can be switched off by short pressure downwards in the opposite direction. The volume setting of the instrument is displayed with numbers from 1 to 25.

In order to save the battery, the LCD display switches off automatically afer 30 seconds. It can be switched on again by pressing one of the two Wip-Tip buttons.
